Dr Evelyn Yeung
Hailing from South Australia, Evelyn attended the University of Adelaide where she received both her bachelor degree in dental surgery and postgraduate training in the Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry). She has worked in private and public practice gaining a wide breadth of experience and knowledge in Melbourne, and metropolitan and rural South Australia.
During her specialist paediatric dental training, Evelyn gained experience and developed interests in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, children with special needs, behaviour management, laser soft tissue procedures, dental anomalies and management of dental trauma.
Evelyn was also involved in undergraduate anatomy tutoring, preclinical and clinical paediatric demonstrating, and lecturing. Evelyn is the current past-president of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry (Victoria Branch). She is also a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and Autism Spectrum Australia. Evelyn recently completed an intensive course to achieve certification as a handler to work with Mr Miso, our visiting therapy dog. They are working together to provide animal assisted intervention (AAI) therapy to aid children attending the practice.
In her spare time Evelyn enjoys spending time with her young family, pottering about her garden, training Miso and experimenting in the kitchen.
Dr Linda Huang
Linda graduated with her Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland in 2012. She then entered Research in the Paediatric Dentistry Department at the University of Queensland where she obtained her Master of Philosophy. During that time, she also worked in private general practice in the bayside of Cleveland, Queensland. Following her passion for working with children, Linda came to Melbourne in 2016 for her post-graduate studies. She obtained her Docorate in Clinical Dentistry in Paediatrics through the University of Melbourne.
After hours, Linda likes to learn new cultures, explore and participate in the many events around Melbourne, as well as try new cuisines.
Melanie - Dental Receptionist and Assistant
Melanie completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2013 and worked as a dental assistant for three years before joining the Happy Smiles For Kids team. She works on the front line at reception and also provides clinical assistance both at the rooms and for hospital procedures. Melanie plans to continue her professional education in the dental industry. In her down time, she enjoys taking her staffy, Scooby, for walks and play time at the park. Melanie is also an aspiring ninja working her way to the 2020 Olympics in Judo.
Heather - Dental Assistant
Heather has worked in the dental industry for over four years. Three of those years have been spent working in paediatric dentistry with Dr Evelyn. During her spare time she is running around after her two daughters, or chasing her two beagles out of the veggie patch! You may even catch her at the local play ground when it's sunny.
